Abstract:
The invention relates to a respiratory anaesthesia apparatus including: a main gas circuit (16, 18) that comprises an inspiratory branch (16) and an expiratory branch (18); a gas supply line (E 15a, E 15b) in fluid communication with the main circuit (16, 18) and including a gas mixer (2) and an anaesthetic agent vessel (14) arranged in series; and a gas supply means (E 10 to E 13)for supplying the mixer (2) with gas. The gas supply means (E 10 to E 13) includes at least a first inlet (E12) for gaseous xenon and a second inlet (E3) for gaseous N2O. The apparatus further includes gas detection means adapted for automatically detecting the presence of xenon or N2O downstream from the first (E12) or second (E13) inlets.
