Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to clarify an effect of a fermented papaya preparation on respiratory burst in human peripheral blood monocytes in vivo while confirming safety of the preparation for a type 2 diabetic patient, and find an additional merit of the preparation for the health of the patient. A respiratory burst activity promoter for enhancing NADPH oxidase-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and promoting respiratory burst activity in a type 2 diabetic patient, said promoter comprising the fermented papaya preparation as an active ingredient.
