Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a retainer for a tapered roller bearing, wherein a plurality of segments can be easily assembled together by applying predetermined tension to wires. This retainer (17) for a tapered roller bearing is configured such that a plurality of segments (20a, 20b) having pockets for holding rolling bodies (15) are arranged annularly. The segments (20a, 20b) have small-diameter-side arc-shaped sections (231), large-diameter-side arc-shaped sections (232), and pillar sections (24) for connecting the small-diameter-side arc-shaped sections (231) and the large-diameter-side arc-shaped sections (232). Wire guide grooves (27, 28) are provided in the small-diameter-side side surfaces of the small-diameter-side arc-shaped sections (231) and in the large-diameter-side side surfaces of the large-diameter-side arc-shaped section (232). The retainer (17) has wires (25, 26) arranged annularly along the wire guide grooves (27, 28), and the ends of the wires (25, 26), which are arranged annularly along the wire guide grooves (27, 28) in the annularly arranged segments (20a, 20b), are fastened together by turnbuckles (40) such that end surfaces of adjacent segments (20a, 20b) are abutted against and affixed to each other.
