Abstract:
A retaining and shaping mechanism for welding, the mechanism comprising: a base (20); a retainer ring (21) disposed on the base (20) and configured to fix a workpiece to be welded; a connection assembly comprising an elastic component configured to keep the retainer ring (21) away from the base (20) during a non-operation state, the retainer ring (21) being capable of performing, via multiple sets of connection assemblies, a linear reciprocating movement in an axial direction with respect to the base (20); and a tapered collar (22) fixed to the base (20), located within the retainer ring (21), and configured to be fitted to an opening of a muffler of the workpiece to be welded. The retaining and shaping mechanism achieves a retaining effect while expanding and shaping an opening of a muffler of a first workpiece while a double circular seam welding process of a cylinder muffler is being completed, thereby eliminating a distortion defect of the opening of the first workpiece caused by previous welding steps. The invention has a simple structure and a smart design, and ensures smooth and stable operations of subsequent process steps of the cylinder muffler, thereby improving manufacturing efficiency and manufacturing quality of products.
