Provided is a reverse dispersion retardation film having excellent durability in environments of high temperature and high humidity. The retardation film according to the present invention comprises: a resin that includes at least one bond group selected from the group consisting of a carbonate bond and an ester bond, and at least one structural unit selected from the group consisting of structural units represented by general formula (1) and structural units represented by general formula (2), and that has positive refractive index anisotropy; and a compound (A) that includes an aromatic structure and that has a molecular weight of 500-2000. The contained amount of the compound (A) is more than 0.5 mass% but not more than 4.0 mass%. Re(550) is 100-200 nm, and Re(450)/Re(550) is more than 0.5 but less than 1.0.
