Abstract:
The invention relates to a retarding device (1), in particular a retarding device (1) for mechanically detecting an overload and retarding a drive output when an overload is detected, comprising: an overload clutch, which comprises a drive element (3) and an output element (5), in order to connect a drive to a drive output for torque transmission, wherein the drive element (3) and the output element (5) are designed to execute a rotary relative movement in the event of an overload; a brake, which can be connected detachably via a brake coupling to the output element (5) for torque transmission; and a conversion device, which is designed to convert the rotary relative movement of the drive element (3) and output element (5) of the overload clutch mechanically into an engagement movement of the brake coupling, wherein the conversion device comprises a conversion element (15), which passes through the output element (5) and through the drive element (3).
