A retractable mounting frame for a television comprises a fixed frame (1) fixed on a wall and an outwards-extending plate (2) parallel to the fixed frame (1) for mounting a TV display. A retractable connection mechanism that facilitates longitudinal movement of the outwards-extending plate (2) is disposed between the outwards-extending plate (2) and the fixed frame (1). The retractable connection mechanism is formed from two-part foldable hinge-connected members disposed on left and right sides. Upper and lower inner edges of an opening of the fixed frame (1) are provided with a positioning flange (5). At two sides of an upper portion and lower portion of the opening of the fixed frame (1), respectively, are provided pairs of sideways-facing U-shaped hinge-connecting portions (9) opening towards opposite directions. Long edges (902) of the U-shaped hinge-connecting portions (9) are disposed on an outer surface of the positioning flap (5) to realize connection. Upper and lower plates of the U-shaped hinge-connecting portion (9) are hinge-connected to hinge-connecting pins at one end of the hinge-connected members close to the fixed frame (1). The retractable mounting frame for a television is reasonably designed and easily retractable, such that less space is occupied, and connection strength can be effectively increased.
