Abstract:
The invention relates to a retractor for a seat belt, comprising a frame, a spool rotatably installed within the frame, webbing wound on the spool such that the webbing can always enter the frame and can be freely extracted to the outside from the inside of the frame, a control unit which adjusts the entry and extraction of the webbing in accordance with information relating to a vehicle, a motor which generates driving force for rotating the spool in accordance with the control of the control unit, and a clutch which receives the driving force from the motor and transmits the driving force to the spool. The clutch comprises: a slave gear which receives the driving force from a driving gear arranged on a rotating shaft of the motor; a plate arranged opposite one end of the slave gear such that the plate moves in conjunction with the slave gear; a braking disk which is arranged to contact the other side of the plate, one side of which faces one end of the slave gear, and which causes friction with the plate when the plate moves in conjunction with the slave gear, thus temporarily fixing the plate; and a locking pole which is pivotably mounted on the plate, and which pivots by means of the rotation of the slave gear and engages with a pinion gear arranged on the rotating shaft of the spool when the plate is temporarily fixed by the braking disk, thus transmitting the driving force received from the slave gear to the spool.
