Abstract:
Methods and devices of various embodiments enable vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications over a PC5 interface including retransmission of IP packets with a new source identifier (src-id) when a src-id conflict is detected. Embodiments include monitoring the PC5 interface for transmissions, determining whether any transmission has a same src-id as a src-id being used by the V2X entity, dropping any unsent protocol data units (PDUs) of a service data unit (SDU) for transmission entity in response to determining that a transmission from a remote entity has a same src-id as a src-id being used by the V2X entity, assigning a new different src-id in response to determining that a transmission from a remote entity has a same src-id as a src-id being used by the V2X entity, converting the SDU for transmission by the V2X entity into new PDUs having the new src-id, and sending the new PDUs via the PC5 interface.
