Abstract:
Even if a belt layer or a belt-reinforcing layer is constituted of a nonmetal material, a belt is reliably detected to form a base tire of desired shape and size.
When a tread rubber (10a) positioned on the radially outer side of the belt layer (10b) of a spent tire (10) is ground off by a grinding means (20), the hardness of the tread rubber (10a) is measured by a hardness measuring means (30). At the instant when the hardness of the tread rubber (10a), which has been measured by the hardness measuring means (30), reaches a predetermined hardness, the grinding operation of the tread rubber by the grinding means (20) is ended.
