Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to easily modify various types of existing bicycles to electric-assist bicycles. [Solution] A retrofitting electric device for a bicycle is provided with: a housing 52 which is configured to be attached to the frame 18 of a bicycle 10; an electric motor 54 which is attached to the housing 52; an annular rotating plate (84) which is provided rotatably on the housing 52 and which is connected to the rotating electric machine 54 in a torque transmitting relation; a pair of rotating claw members 96 which are provided on the rotating plate 84 and which include a part that contacts a pedal crank arm 26 of the bicycle 10 on both sides in the rotation direction; and a linking member (40, 92) which links the pair of rotating claw members 96 and the rotation center of the crank arm 26 such that the rotating plate 84 is arranged concentrically with the rotation center of the crank arm 26.
