Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to easily modify various types of existing bicycles to electric-assist bicycles. [Solution] A retrofitting electric device for a bicycle is provided with: a housing 52 which is configured to be attached to the frame 18 of a bicycle 10; an electric motor 54 which is attached to the housing 52; an annular rotating plate 84 which is provided rotatably on the housing 52 so as to be arranged around the rotation central axis of a pedal crank shaft 24 of the bicycle 10 and which is connected to the electric motor 54 in a torque transmitting relation; and a linking member 90 which, so as to rotate integrally with the crank shaft 24, includes a first linking unit 92 linked by shape engagement to the crank shaft 24 and a linking pin 98 fixed to the rotating plate 84.
