A terminal (21) of a management center (20) governing the whole system, a terminal (3) of a returnable container delivery center distributing returnable containers (10) to which IC cards (11, 14, 18) are attached, a terminal (2) of a manufacturer manufacturing and shipping products, and a terminal (4) of a wholesale store/warehouse wholesaling/holding the products are interconnected through a computer network. Terminals on the physical distribution route of the returnable containers (10) communicate data with the computer network and the IC card (11, 14, 18). The management center (20) integrally manages the physical distribution state of the returnable containers (10).
