Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a reversible thermochromic composition, in which a fluoran derivative with a specific structure is used as an electron-donating and coloring organic compound and, therefore, which exhibits a black color upon color development and changes to colorless upon decoloration and which has excellent light resistance; and a microcapsule pigment encapsulating the reversible thermochromic composition. [Solution] A reversible thermochromic composition that comprises: (a) a fluoran derivative with a specific structure as an electron-donating and coloring organic compound; (b) a compound with a specific structure as an electron accepting compound; and (c) a reaction medium that reversibly causes an electron transfer reaction between the component (a) and component (b) in a specific temperature range. A reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment that encapsulates the reversible thermochromic composition.
