Abstract:
The invention relates to a high-efficiency, reversible thermodynamic device for heat transfer by means of vapour compression (single- or multi-stage) and phase change. The invention relates to the design and integration of reversible heat exchangers (6) and (7) which can operate alternately as condenser or flooded evaporator. The invention also relates to the design and integration of an intermediate expansion exchanger (5) which also allows the cycle of the system to be reversed. The design of the entire thermodynamic device, incorporating the aforementioned innovations, allows same to operate reversibly while retaining optimum energy efficiency even in the event of significant temperature differences between its sources. The device is particularly suitable for reversible applications with high compression ratio, such as very-low-temperature coolers (useful cold side) and/or high-temperature heat pumps (useful hot side).
