Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a reversibly thermochromic composition which displays a clear yellow to orange color when color-developed and becomes colorless when decolored, and has improved light resistance and high marketability; and a reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment in which the reversibly thermochromic composition is enclosed.
[Solution] A reversibly thermochromic composition containing (a) an electron-donating color-developable organic compound that is a specific pyridine derivative, (b) an electron-accepting compound and (c) a reaction medium which can reversibly cause an electron transfer reaction between the components (a) and (b) in a specific temperature range; and a reversibly thermochromic microcapsule pigment in which the reversibly thermochromic composition is enclosed.
