Abstract:

Provided is an RFID reading device capable of reliably reading information on an IC tag attached to a component located in the interior of an object covered with a substance through which radio waves cannot be easily transmitted. Also provided is an information reading method using said RFID reading device. An object (4) and an IC tag (5) attached to the object (4) are disposed in an interior space (3) covered with a vehicle body (2) formed from a material that inhibits the transmission of radio waves. An RFID reading device (1) is provided with an information reading unit (7) and a rotation driving unit (8). The information reading unit (7) has an antenna part (6) and receives object related information by means of the antenna part (6), thereby reading the object related information. The object related information from the IC tag (5) is reliably read by reducing the effect of the radio waves reflecting or being absorbed as much as possible regardless of the orientation of the posture of the IC tag (5) disposed in the interior space (3) of the vehicle body (2) because the antenna part (6) is rotated about a predetermined rotation axial line (L1) by means of the rotation driving unit (8).
