Abstract:
Provided is an RFID system with which the position and orientation of cards as well as relatively small managed objects can be detected easily and accurately. In response to a request from a reader/writer 30, a tag control unit 68 reads orientation information acquired by an orientation information detection unit 66, and transmits the orientation information to the reader/writer 30, so orientation information related to the bearing or rotation can be obtained in addition to position information obtained by a plurality of loop antennas (RFID antennas) R1-Rn and C1-Cn. Furthermore, no battery or GPS position detection device is mounted in the RF tag 60, so it is possible to construct a position/orientation detection system that is less expensive than a similar system using a smartphone, beacon, or the like.
