Abstract:
Provided are an RFID tag which has an extended communication distance and can be attached to a metal surface, and an article to which an RFID tag is attached. The RFID tag is provided with a wireless IC chip (34), an antenna pattern (20), a matching circuit (35), a capacitive coupling unit (50) which is connected to the antenna pattern and capacitively coupled with a metal surface (W1a), and an insulating base member (12) on which the antenna pattern and the capacitive coupling unit are formed. The antenna pattern has a first antenna pattern (22) connected to the wireless IC chip via the matching circuit, and a second antenna pattern (24) one end of which is connected with the wireless IC chip via the matching circuit and the other end of which is connected with the capacitive coupling unit. The RFID tag (10) has a capacitance unit (60a) having a capacitance between the first antenna pattern and the capacitive coupling unit. The antenna pattern, the capacitive coupling unit, and the capacitance unit are connected in a loop.
