Abstract:
Provided is an RFID tag that enables further reduction in size while also curbing any decrease in communication range. An RFID tag (1) comprises an inductor element (3) in which a coil antenna (32) is built into a substrate (31), and an RFIC element (2) which is mounted onto a mounting surface (31A) of the substrate (31) and is electrically connected to the coil antenna (32), wherein: the coil antenna (32) is disposed so that a winding axis (32A) is parallel or inclined with respect to the mounting surface (31A) of the substrate (31); the surface area of the RFIC element (2) as seen from a direction orthogonal to the mounting surface (31A) of the substrate (31) is greater than an opening surface area of the coil antenna (32) as seen from the winding axis (32A) direction of the coil antenna (32); and the RFIC element (2) is disposed so as to not overlap at least a part of an opening region (32B) of the coil antenna (32) when seen from the winding axis (32A) direction of the coil antenna (32).
