Title:
RIBITOL DEHYDROGENASE HAVING DUAL COENZYME SPECIFICITY AND USES THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/065901
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to noble ribitol dehydrogenase, to a residue determining dual coenzyme specificity, and to a method for producing L-ribulose using the ribitol dehydrogenase. More particularly, the present invention relates to ribitol dehydrogenase producing rare sugars, to nuclear acid molecules coding same, to a vector including the nucleic acid molecules, to a transformant including the vector, to a mutant of the ribitol dehydrogenase, and to a method for producing L-ribulose using the ribitol dehydrogenase. According to the present invention, the ribitol dehydrogenase having dual coenzyme specificity derived from zymomonas mobilis can be effectively used in the production of expensive rare sugars. Also, the demonstration of coenzyme specificity determining factors in the ribitol dehydrogenase is applied to every dehydrogenase as a generic technology.
