Abstract:
Provided is a rifle for which not only is cartridge performance (bullet flying-force etc.) not sacrificed and enlargement of the chamber preventable, but the rifling is resistant to wear and the bore has a long lifespan. With a rifle body 10 and a chamber formed part 20 as separate elements, the chamber formed part 20 is formed using a metal harder than the metal forming the rifle body 10. Sections of a bore 12 having rifling 12a other than the section in a rear-end of the bore are provided in the rifle body 10. The section in the rear-end of the bore 12 having the rifling 12a is provided in the front-end side of the chamber formed part 20. The ratio L/D of the length L of the section provided with the rifling 12a in the chamber formed part 20 to the inner diameter D of a portion provided with the rifling 12a in the chamber formed part 20 is preferably 4 to 6.
