Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a righting moment recovery apparatus for a marine vessel that takes conventionally required measures to ensure the stability in the event of damage in the marine vessel. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The righting moment recovery apparatus for the marine vessel is characterized in that a remotely openable seawater leading means is provided on a bottom layer watertight flat (5a) which forms a void space (8) at a bottom of the marine vessel. Consequently, in the event that seawater flows into the marine vessel due to damage of ship-side outer plates or the like on the marine vessel, seawater flowing into the marine vessel can be led to the void space (8) by opening the seawater leading means provided on the bottom layer watertight flat (5a). As a result, the void space (8) which is usually served as an enormous backup buoyancy can be made to function as a kind of seawater ballast tank, thereby allowing the righting moment of the marine vessel to be recovered.
