Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a ring-shaped cardiac muscle cell mass in which an electric signal or a calcium signal can progress while circulating therethrough. Also provided is a method for producing the ring-shaped cardiac muscle cell mass, said method comprising a step of culturing cardiac muscle cells induced from pluripotent stem cells in a culture vessel having a protruded part formed at the inside bottom thereof. Also provided is a culture vessel having a protruded part formed at the inside bottom thereof. Also provided are: a method for assessing the cardiotoxicity of a candidate substance for a medicine and a method for screening for a therapeutic agent for a heart disease, in each of which the ring-shaped cardiac muscle cell mass is used; and a kit for the method, which includes the ring-shaped cardiac muscle cell mass.
