Abstract:
Provided are: a rinsing agent for use in the production of a hard disk in which no abrasive grain does not remain and no concave defect is formed on the surface thereof; and a process for producing a hard disk substrate using the rinsing agent. This rinsing agent is a rinsing solution which contains colloidal silica as abrasive grains, wherein the concentration (C) of the colloidal silica abrasive grains and the average particle diameter (R) of the colloidal silica abrasive grains (C and R are expressed by wt% and nm, respectively) has a relationship fulfilling the formula (1): R ≥ 2.2C + 18.2.
