The present invention relates to an RNA aptamer that specifically binds to endothelial cell-specific molecule-1 (ESM-1) protein and a use of the RNA aptamer. Specifically, the RNA aptamer according to the present invention strongly binds specifically to ESM-1 protein and regulates a signaling pathway involved in angiogenesis, thus finding advantageous applications in the detection of ESM-1 protein and the treatment and diagnosis of angiogenesis-associated diseases.
