Abstract:
[Problem] To prevent the occurrence of hazards caused by a vehicle slipping. [Solution] Provided is a road surface condition detection device that: acquires sensing data by using a millimeter-wave sensor which is attached to a vehicle and which projects millimeter waves toward a road surface and receives the reflected waves; determines, if the reflection intensity of the reflected waves included in the sensing data exceeds a predetermined threshold value, that there is a metal structure over which the vehicle is traveling, on the road surface where the vehicle is traveling; and controls the driving force and/or braking force of the vehicle if the metal structure is determined to be present.
