Abstract:
Provided is a road surface detection device capable of detecting not only dry, wet, and frozen road surfaces, but also road surface types based on road surface components. This road surface detection device 100 comprises: a light source 80 for emitting, onto a road surface 300, light of a plurality of different wavelengths from the visible to infrared range, including at least one type of visible light; detectors 81, 82 for detecting the reflected intensities of reflected light, from among the light that has been emitted from the light source 80 and reflected by the road surface 300, of a plurality of different wavelengths including at least one type of visible light; and a road surface determination unit 70 for determining the road surface type on the basis of the reflected intensities of the reflected light of the plurality of different wavelengths according to the detectors 81, 82.
