Abstract:
This roadside object detection device, this roadside object detection method, and this roadside object detection system can accurately detect a roadside object by: finding a first feature quantity regarding the positional relationship between a host vehicle and a roadside object candidate and a second feature quantity relating to the height of the roadside object candidate, such feature quantities found on the basis of outside world information acquired by an outside world recognition unit; finding a height-related threshold value for identifying the roadside object candidate as a roadside object on the basis of the first feature quantity; and identifying the roadside object candidate as a roadside object if the second feature quantity exceeds the threshold value.
