The purpose of the present invention is to allow links to be smoothly guided in a receiving part in a support part. This robot arm mechanism is provided with: a support part 2 on a base frame 1; a derricking part 4 which is provided with a derricking rotation joint part J2 and is mounted on the support part; and a linearly extendable mechanism including a linearly extendable arm part 5 and provided on the derricking part. The robot arm mechanism is also provided with: a plurality of first links 53 which have flat plate shapes and are bendably connected to each other; a plurality of second links 54 which have groove frame shapes and are bendably connected to each other; a coupling part 55 which couples the heads of the first links and the heads of the second links; a feeding mechanism part 25 which supports the first links and the second links to be movable back and forth; and a square tube-shaped receiving part 22 which receives the separated first and second links. A plurality of rollers 221, 222 are respectively provided on face plates on both sides of the receiving part and a plurality of pulleys 223 are provided on the front face plate of the receiving part. Every two neighboring pulleys form a pair, and a flexible belt 230 is wound around pulleys which form the pair.
