Abstract:
Disclosed are a robot cleaner and a method for controlling same. A method for controlling a robot cleaner that uses rotational power of multiple rotating members as a source of moving power for traveling according to the present invention comprises the steps of: rotating at least one of a first rotating member that makes a rotational movement around a first axis of rotation and a second rotating member that makes a rotational movement around a second axis of rotation, thereby causing the robot cleaner to travel; determining whether or not the robot cleaner has reached a wall surface during the traveling; and, when it is determined that the robot cleaner has reached the wall surface, causing the robot cleaner to travel along the wall surface while continuously forcing one side surface of the robot cleaner against the wall surface by rotation of at least one of the first rotating member and the second rotating member.
