Abstract:
A robot cleaner, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a main body; a driving unit for moving the main body; a battery for supplying power to the driving unit; a plurality of sensing units disposed on the front surface from the center of the main body and obtaining information on the environment ahead; a dust container disposed rearward from the center of the main body and collecting suctioned dust; and a control unit which determines the location of a docking station on the basis of detection signals detected by the sensing units, and controls the driving unit to travel backward such that the dust container enters the docking station first. Accordingly, it is possible to place, within a travelling space, a docking station which interoperates with a robot cleaner, charges the robot cleaner, and functions as a dumping tower for collecting and holding dust in a dust container of the robot cleaner. In addition, when forming a dust channel through which the robot cleaner transfers dust in the dust container to a dumping station, the robot cleaner performs rear docking so that the dust channel is formed to have the shortest length and dust collection can be effectively performed.
