Abstract:
A robot cleaner and a control method thereof are provided. The robot cleaner comprises at least one sensor, a communication interface that communicates with an external server, a traveling unit, a memory for storing at least one instruction, and at least one processor that controls the robot cleaner and the at least one sensor. The at least one processor executes the at least one instruction to perform a cleaning operation on the basis of map data stored in the memory. While performing the cleaning operation, the at least one processor controls a communication interface to transmit sensing data obtained from the at least one sensor to an external server for identifying an abnormal object. When information identifying the abnormal object detected as a moving object is received from the external server through the communication interface, the at least one processor stores information about the moving object in map data. The at least one processor may control the communication interface to transmit a map image containing information about the moving object to the external device.
