Abstract:
A robot control method for: setting a robot monitoring model that covers at least a portion of a robot; setting a monitoring region, which is for monitoring the range in which the robot can move, parallel to the robot coordinate system; converting the position of a constituent point, which is a chosen point contained in the robot monitoring model, to a position in a coordinate system different from the robot coordinate system (ST9); assessing whether or not the robot monitoring model contacts the boundary surface of the monitoring region using the position of the constituent point after conversion (ST6); and stopping the movement of the robot when there is contact (ST8).
