Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a robot device provided with an arm unit comprising a fixed element and a plurality of rectilinear motion elements incorporated in multiple stages on the fixed element, wherein distances from the rectilinear motion elements to the fixed element are detected. A robot device 1 is provided with: an arm unit 5 having a fixed element 54 and a plurality of rectilinear motion elements 51, 52, 53 extendably incorporated in multiple stages on the fixed element; motion driving mechanisms 7, 8 which drive motion of a lead rectilinear motion element 51 from among the plurality of the rectilinear motion elements 51, 52, 53; and a position specifying unit which specifies the position of at least one of the rectilinear motion elements 53, not including the lead rectilinear motion element 51, from among the plurality of rectilinear motion elements 51, 52, 53 relative to the fixed element 54 or the lead rectilinear motion element 51.
