Abstract:
This upper body support structure of a robot is provided with a columnar backbone unit which extends upwards from a hip bone unit of the robot, an upper body support unit which is connected to the backbone unit and which extends laterally of the robot from said backbone unit, and a drive unit to which the arm unit of the robot is rotatably attached and which has a housing space for housing at least a prescribed actuator for driving rotation of said arm unit from outside of said arm unit. The drive unit is connected to the upper body support unit and the hip bone unit at a first connection point on the upper body support unit and a second connection point on the hip bone unit, said connection points being separated to the side by a prescribed distance from the connection point between the upper body support unit and the backbone unit.
