Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a roll to be used in a bath, which has excellent erosion resistance with respect to molten aluminum, excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures and excellent wear resistance.
[Solution] A roll to be used in a bath, which is used in a metal bath that contains Al, and which is configured to comprise: an undercoat layer which constitutes the roll surface, and which is formed of a thermally sprayed cermet coating film that contains a first boride containing at least WB, WCoB and W2CoB2 and a second boride composed of at least one boride selected from among borides of Cr, Zr and Ti, with the balance being made up of a cobalt-based alloy that does not contain 5% by mass or more of nickel; a top coat layer which is formed on the surface of the undercoat layer, and which is formed of a thermally sprayed ceramic coating film that contains at least ZrO2 and Y2O3; and a friction reduction layer which is formed on the surface of the top coat layer, and which is composed of BN and at least one substance selected from among TiO2, ZrO2, SiO2, MgO and CaO.
