Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a roll with which it is possible to enlarge the area of abutment on a surface to be washed, and improve the effect of absorbing liquid such as water. [Solution] A roll 10 comprises a roll part 1 and a base 2. The roll part 1 is formed by two types of roll pieces 3a, 3b layered on the outer circumference of the base 2, the roll pieces 3a, 3b comprising a non-woven fabric or a synthetic resin porous body, having a substantially annular shape, and having different outer diameters. The base 2 has two flanges 4a, 4b having a substantially disc-like shape or a substantially annular shape and abutting on the roll pieces 3a, 3b at the opposite ends, and a rotation shaft 5 to which each of the two flanges 4a, 4b is locked or fixed. At least one side of the rotation shaft 5 has a discharge hole 6. The outer surface of the roll part 1 forms a plurality of steps 8 along the longitudinal direction. The outer diameter of the flanges 4a, 4b is smaller than the outer diameter of the roll piece 3a having a smaller diameter.
