Abstract:
The roller ski shock absorber represents a construction designed to eliminate vibrations a rising during the rolling of the roller ski along asphalt surface and create a snow feel featured by snow ski. The roller ski shock absorber consist of the wheel carrier (1) and the shock absorber carrier (3) bound together by rubber stripe (2) in the process of rubber vulcanization while the shock absorber carrier is fixedly attached to the roller ski body end (4) while the wheel axle (6) with the wheel (5) is fixedly attached to the protruding end of the wheel carrier (1). Variant 2 features the roller ski body (4) and the wheel carrier (1) bound together by rubber stripe thereby eliminating the use of the shock absorber carrier(3). Rubber stripe (2) is vulcanized to both roller ski body and wheel carrier. The roller ski shock absorber is capable to rotate a round its center of rotation (7) as skier's body weight goes on and of the ski.

Claims

1. The roller ski shock absorber, characterized in that, the wheel carrier (1) and shock absorber carrier (3) bound by rubber stripe (2) with shock absorber carrier (3), fixedly attached to the end of roller ski body (4) with one end of the wheel carrier (1), protruding from the end of roller ski body (4) with wheel axle (6) and the wheel (5) fixedly attached on said end.

2. The roller ski shock absorber according to claim 1, characterized in that, the rubber strip (2) is attached to both the wheel carrier (1) and the shock absorber carrier (3) by the process of vulcanization.

The roller ski shock absorber according to claim 1, characterized in that, the roller ski body (4) intended for fixing shoes for holding shoes and the wheel carrier (1), at whose ends which console extend beyond the ends of the roller ski body (4) are fixedly attached the wheel axle (6) to relieve wheel (5), mutually directly connected by rubber stripe (2).

4. The roller ski shock absorber according to claim 3, characterized in that, the rubber stripe (2) is attached to both the wheel carrier (1) and the roller ski body (4) by the process of vulcanization.

5. The roller ski shock absorber according to any of claims 1 - 4, characterized in that, the wheel carrier (1) is capable to rotate around its center of rotation (7) due to load or unloading by the weight of the roller ski skater.

Roller ski shock absorber

Fild of invention

Invention belongs to the class of sporting goods and features the shock absorber for the roller ski designed to dampen vibrations. IPC of present invention is A63C 5/075(2006.01.).

Technical problem

Invention is designed to solve the problem of dampening vibrations arising during the rolling of the roller ski on asphalt surface in order to render roller skiing as close as possible to winter time Nordic skiing in terms of level of vibrations and general feel (snow feel).

State of art

Existing technical solution of the roller ski construction are based on roller ski wheels being fixedly attached to the roller ski body. This kind of roller ski construction generate a high level of vibrations and the bounce of the rear wheel what upsets the proper steering of the roller ski drastically reducing the snow feel characteristic of snow skiing.

One seemingly better solution is set forth in pat. Application RS20120334A suggesting that wheels should not be fixedly attached to the roller ski fork but to the end of U shaped wire spring while other end of said spring should be fixedly attached to the roller ski fork. This way the end of said spring holding the wheel can work up end down with body wait on and of the roller ski. This technical solution shows two obvious shortcomings. Firstly it produces an excessive torsion-twisting of the wheel axle during skiing because the wheel carrier is a wire spring thus making any skiing at higher speed especially in curves impossible. Secondly it does not solve the problem of vibrations because metal wire spring directly rests on metal fork of the roller ski. Summary of the invention

The essence of invention is that roller ski shock absorber eliminates vibrations during the rolling of roller ski on asphalt surface and lowers the roller ski center of gravity by a few millimeters by its work - rotation around its center of rotation. Without the shock absorber the center of gravity can be lowered only by the flexing of the ski body under the body weight. The total lowering of the roller ski thanks to both shock absorber and ski body flexing is equal to that of Nordic snow ski. It is the lack of vibrations and the said lowered center of gravity that create a sensation of the snow feel. The roller ski shock absorber construction eliminates any friction between its metal parts what drastically increases its usability. Vibration dampening is a result of the fact that the wheel carrier and the shock absorber carrier are bound together by the rubber stripe preventing the transfer of vibrations from the wheel carrier to the ski body.

According to basic alternative the wheel carrier and the shock absorber carrier are connected by rubber stripe in the process of rubber vulcanization. One end of the wheel carrier protrudes from the ski end and on its end the wheel axle with wheel is affixed.

According to another alternative the wheel carrier is directly connected - bound to the ski end by way of rubber stripe in the process of rubber vulcanization while one end of the wheel carrier protrudes from the ski end and on its end the axle (and the wheel) is fixedly attached. Basic alternative offers a possibility to change a damaged shock absorber unlike another alternative.

Detail description of the invention

Fig. 1 shows a side view of the roller ski shock absorber featuring the wheel carrier (1) and the roller ski shock absorber carrier (3) bound together by way of rubber stripe (2) of rectangular shape and of certain thickness in the process of rubber vulcanization.

Fig. 2 shows a view from above of the roller ski shock absorber and roller ski body(4) revealing that the front end of the shock absorber carrier (3) and rubber stripe (2) coincide with the roller ski body (4) end.

Fig. 3 shows two roller ski shock absorbers attached to the end of the roller ski body (4) with the roller ski shock absorber carrier (3) fixedly attached to said of the roller ski body (4)ยท

Fig. 4 shows a side view of the roller ski shock absorber attached to the end of the roller ski body (4); the wheel (5) with its axle (6) before skier's body weight is placed on the roller ski. Fig. 4 also shows the center of rotation (7) of the wheel carrier (1) being placed specifically with rubber at the point that is equal to 2/3 of rubber stripe (2) length from ski end. During roller skiing the skier's weight shifts from one ski to another roller ski. By shifting skier's body weight to the roller ski body the front end of the wheel carrier (1) at the wheel axle (6) moves up wards while rear end of the wheel carrier (1) simultaneously moves downwards as Fig. 5 shows by lifting the body weight from roller ski the front end of the wheel carrier (1) moves back to its starting position and so does the rear end of the wheel carrier (1). This means that the wheel carriers (1) constantly rotate in a limited way around center of rotation (7). The side rotation of ends of the wheel carriers (1) causes the rubber stripes (2) to constantly stretch the front section of the rubber stripe (2) stretches more than its rear end while at the center of rotation (7) the rubber stripe (2) tends to twist. Rotation of the wheel carrier (1) is a result of the pact that the front end of wheel carrier (1) protrudes (console like) front roller ski body (4) and the wheel axle with the wheel axle (6) fixedly attached to the said end of the wheel carrier (1). Fig. 5 shows a side view of the roller ski shock absorber attached to ends of the roller ski body (4) end and a wheel (5) with its axle (6) at the moment the body weight is placed on the roller ski body(4) causing consequently the wheel carrier (1) to start its rotation.

Fig. 6 shows another alternative with the wheel carrier (1) and the roller ski body (4) end, which are bound together directly, by way of rubber stripe (2), in the process of rubber vulcanization. This technical solution excludes any need for the shocks absorber carrier (3) and makes production more cost effective.

The roller ski shock absorber works on the principle of stretching rubber rather than compressing it.

The roller ski shock absorber can be applied on the equipment in the roller ski sport.
