Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a sliding-type roller rocker arm having reduced friction, the sliding-type roller rocker arm being adapted for use in a rocker arm-type valve operating mechanism for a four-stroke internal combustion engine. [Solution] A rocker arm-type valve operating mechanism for a four-stroke internal combustion engine is configured such that a rocker arm which is one of the parts constituting the rocker arm-type valve operating mechanism is composed of a total of four parts which are a body 110, a roller shaft 120, and two rollers, that is, an inner ring roller 130 and an outer ring roller 140, which are supported by the roller shaft 120, and the rocker arm glides and slides. The inner roller consists of a resin material to reduce friction due to sliding. Also, reinforcement fibers are arranged in parallel to the sliding direction of the inner ring roller to further reduce friction.
