Abstract:
This rolling bearing raceway ring is made of a quenched steel, and is provided with a surface having an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface. One of the inner and outer circumferential surfaces includes a raceway surface. The other circumferential surface is an opposite raceway surface. The amount of retained austenite in the steel on the opposite raceway surface is less than the amount of retained austenite in the steel on the raceway surface. The difference between the amount of retained austenite in the steel on the raceway surface and the amount of retained austenite in the steel on the opposite raceway surface is 5 vol% or more. The difference between the maximum value and the minimum value in the amount of retained austenite in the steel on the opposite raceway surface is 2 vol% or less as measured along the circumferential direction of the raceway ring.
