Abstract:
A rolling bearing is provided with an outer spacer mounted adjacent to an outer ring, and the outer spacer has formed thereon a guiding surface slidably facing a guided surface of a retainer. An annular groove is formed in the guided surface, flow paths for oil and air are provided in the outer spacer, and discharge openings of the flow paths which discharge openings are in the guiding surface face radially the annular groove within the width of the opening of the annular groove. The annular groove has a pair of side wall surfaces provided tilted in the directions opposite to each other such that the distance between the side wall surfaces is reduced from the opening side to the bottom side. The distance between the facing pair of side wall surfaces is greater at the open end of the groove than the diameter of the discharge openings and is smaller at the bottom end of the groove than the diameter of the discharge openings.
