Abstract:
According to the present invention, a rolling bearing which comprises an inner ring (11), an outer ring (12) that is arranged radially outside the inner ring (11), a rolling body (13) that is arranged between the inner ring (11) and the outer ring (12), and a retainer (14) that retains the rolling body (13), and which supports a camshaft of an engine and is used in an oil lubricated environment, is configured to be characterized in that: a surface modification layer is formed on the surface of the retainer (14); and the surface modification layer has a Vickers hardness of 400 Hv or more but less than 650 Hv.
