Abstract:
Provided is a rolling component in which hydrogen is less apt to accumulate in a rolling element constituted of a steel material, e.g., an inner ring or an outer ring, and which can be thereby prevented from suffering early-stage separation caused by hydrogen embrittlement. The rolling component is a rolling bearing (1) which comprises an inner ring (2), an outer ring (3), and rolling bodies (4), wherein at least one of the inner ring (2), outer ring (3), and rolling bodies (4) is constituted of a given steel material. The steel material contains oxide-based inclusions, at least some of which are covered with MnS. In the oxide-based inclusions in the steel material which have a maximum diameter of 3 µm or larger, ones covered with MnS account for more than 40% by number of all the inclusions.
