Abstract:
This rolling system is provided with an induction heating device (6), temperature detectors (9) and (10), a finish rolling mill (5), and a set power calculation device (7). On the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detector (9), the set power calculation device (7) generates a temperature distribution pattern for the thickness direction of a steel material (1) at an upstream temperature management location. On the basis of the generated temperature distribution pattern, the set power calculation device (7) calculates the volume-average temperature of the steel material (1) at a downstream temperature management location, when the steel material (1) has been moved from the upstream temperature management location to the downstream temperature management location. The power needed by the induction heating device (6) is then calculated in such a way that the calculated volume-average temperature conforms to a target temperature of the steel material (1) at the downstream temperature management location.
