Title:
ROOF-COVER STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLES AGAINST ATMOSPHERIC AND NON-ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1995/015867
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The "roof-cover structure for vehicles against atmospheric and non-atmospheric conditions" refers to: (1) principle container (TAVOLA 1) with rails (TAV 5C/5C1) for holding canvas which allows the roof coverage (front and back) of the vehicle (TAV 10): this coverage is set forth by adopting two windable tubes (TAV 3F) and canvas (TAV 5A); (2) simple container with baggage rack (TAV 15A/B) divided into three parts: (a) part 1: back with cylinder, (b) part 2: baggage rack, (c) part 3: front with cylinder; (3) simple container with baggage with front and back lights (TAVV 16, 17) with the anterior coverage divided in two parts united between the hinges; (4) container with baggage rack with and without front and back lights and lateral cylinders for a partial lateral coverage (TAV 16 A/B). The above-mentioned models have the shape of a rectangular trapeze with a front movable roof coverage designed in a pointed shape. The back has an opening (slit) which allows the canvas to pass through.

Description:
Roof-Cover Structure for Vehicles against Atmospheric and Non-Atmospheric Conditions

Introduction

This invention refers to a container in the shape of a rectangular trapeze (Fig. 1) , that is placed on the roof of a vehicle (Fig. 10) . containing two windable tubes on springs. When unrolled it allows the complete coverage "of the roof" of a vehicle .

Characteristics The present under-mentioned model has the privile¬ ge of having its interior part (obliqua) . which permits. when the car is moving. a minimum resistance to air. Following this structure I have created various types of containers, for example:

(1) Principle container with rail for holding canvas .

( 2 ) Another shape of the base container.

< 3A Variation ot the anterior coverage. ( (33BB)) Internal variation of the container.

( 3C ) Posterior variation of the container.

( 4 ) Container with baggage rack. with or without posterior lights.

( 5 ) container with baggage rack with or without front and back lights and lateral cylinders.

( 6 ) Variation of the anterior coverage of comma 5)

What is shown below is the "principle container", pointing out that any object carried on the roof of the vehicle must not protrude on the sides from where the tyres are positioned.

We wish to point out that the measurements mentioned below refer onlv and exclusively to the example exhibited.

Please note that the joints can be either solded or screwed in. (1) Principle container with rail for holding canvas

The vehicle we are referring to has external tvres at a distance of 1 450 mm.

TAVOLA 9: The setting up of the cricket 4C and 4C1 TAVOLA 9A: The front coverage and fold-up 9A1 is fixed to the back rod by screws:

TAVOLA 9b: The front coverage "L shaped" with

fold-ups 9B1 and 9B2 are fixed to the rod with horizontal screws: TAVOLA 1: Now we shall compare the container with the one which we have just presented. The container in TAVOLA 1 shows its facade emphasizing the back part in evidence : the two dots represent the two screws 4F which keep the roof to the container firm.

As follows :

The two poles 5B are kept firm by bolts connected to the rod 2B of the container.

The two tubes 3F + 5A will be positioned in the clamps 3C and 3D and after the tubes are screwed in Sal are pulled out from the gaps (front and back) of the container which holds the tubes 4b.

The two rails overlap the rod 5B so that the internal space of the two 5C is of 1420 mm. Then the mentioned rod will be placed on the back part of the roof and another one on the front.

The four hinges 4D will be placed two in the front and two in the back of the vehicle and hooked on to the holes 5a2.

In order to finalize everything it is necessary to place a small rubber approximately 20 mm in width and 20 mm in height in the middle part where the movable anterior coverage 7C is placed on the movable roof 7B .

TAVOLA 10: View of the principle container placed on the vehicle. 2) - Another shape of the base container

Another shape of the base container has lateral vertical walls that do not protude . This has been realized by an improvement.
