Abstract:
Disclosed is a roof-use mounted antenna with good receive sensitivity of radio waves which replaces an existing roof antenna for motor vehicle use. In installing an antenna unit comprising a complex in which a planar antenna element for receiving radio waves of a radio and a short axis coil antenna element are connected to replace an existing pole antenna in an existing antenna base of the roof of a motor vehicle, the short axis coil antenna element is galvanically connected to a conductive connection portion of the existing antenna base from which the existing pole antenna has been removed. Upon an upper portion of the short axis coil antenna element, the planar antenna element which has been fixed to the apex within an antenna cover is attached, and the antenna cover is overlaid upon the existing antenna base to fix the antenna cover.
