Abstract:
A rope abnormality detection device (10) is structured from a detection portion (11) that is located close to a rope (40) including wires made of steel and magnetically detects abnormality such as wire breakage, and a signal processing portion (12) for processing a signal obtained from the detection portion. A fixer (30) for holding the rope abnormality detection device (10) at a specific position in a lift/lower passage of an elevator is provided, the position being such that the rope moves relative to the position and that the distance between the position and a running passage of the rope is kept constant.
