Abstract:
Provided is a rotary actuator (1) equipped with a sensing mechanism, the actuator comprising: a motor (30) and a reducer (40) concentrically disposed inside a cylindrical housing (2); a scale (14) for detecting the rotational position of a rotary arm (9), the scale being disposed on the circular outer face (3) of the cylindrical housing (2); and a position sensor (15) mounted in the facing section (10) of the rotary arm (9) that rotates along the circular outer face (3), the facing section being in a facing arrangement with the circular outer face (3). A detection mechanism comprising the scale (14) and the position sensor (15) detects the rotational position of the rotary arm (9) capable of rotating within a finite angular range along the circular outer face (3) of the cylindrical housing (2). The components are concentrically disposed, making it possible to obtain a compact rotary actuator equipped with a sensing mechanism and designed with a reduced length in the direction of the major axis. The actuator is suitable for use as a digital joint unit.
