Abstract:
A rotary actuator (100) includes: a magnet (4) that is provided at one end portion of a shaft (2) and that is rotatable together with the shaft (2); and a sensor (5) that is disposed so as to face the magnet (4) with an air gap (7) therebetween and that detects a rotation angle of the shaft (2) by detecting a magnetic field generated by the magnet (4). The magnet (4) is constituted of a first half section (4N) corresponding to the N pole and a second half section (4S) corresponding to the S pole. Furthermore, a hole (42) or a magnetic shield body (43) is provided between the first half section (4N) and the second half section (4S). The sensor (5) detects a magnetic field spanning the hole (42) or the magnetic shield body (43).
